Does the golden colour signal the beginning of a new era? Barcelona unveils outdoor jersey set

Today marks the official launch of the outdoor jersey range presented by FC Barcelona. Back in early June, the Catalan big club boasted a new first set of jerseys for the 2022/23 season.

The jerseys are inspired by the thirtieth anniversary of the 1992 Barcelona Olympics. Their golden hue is meant to reference the colour of the Olympic medals.

On the sleeves and leggings there are stripes in the colours of the Olympic train made up of five circles symbolizing all the continents.

There are also urban motifs – the jerseys feature an outline map of the city, including the famous L’Eixample district and one of the most important streets, Avinguida Diagonal.

The shorts and leggings are also gold in colour. The logos of Spotify, Nike and UNHCR (the United Nations refugee aid organisation), as well as the club’s emblem, are a solid dark blue.

Today marks the start of jersey sales, which are already available at official club stores and online. The jerseys are made from 100% renewable materials.
