Prague Slavia will play a rematch of the third round of the Champions League against Dnipro-1 in Košice. The Ukrainian team was defeated 3:0 at home in Eden and could have scored even more goals. How will the rematch play out and what to bet on?
Dnipro-1 was a bit of an unknown. A team composed entirely of Ukrainian players was considered an underdog, but Panathinaikos had a tough time in the Champions League preliminary round.
Jindřich Trpišovský compared the opponent to last year’s duel with Polish Raków, against whom Slavia had worked hard. But the picture of the game was a bit different than expected.
Sešiovans worked hard from the beginning of the match and showed who was at home. Already in the fifth minute, Eden was cheered by Ivan Schranz, who cleverly crossed Lukáš Masopust’s centre into the net.
Before half-time, Schranz’s name was called for the second time when he pushed Provoda’s corner into the net. Slavia could have added more goals during the first half.
Jurecka added a goal after the change of sides, but it was taken away by VAR. When Ogbu was sent off in the 58th minute, it was expected that the game would even out a bit. But Dnipro-1 didn’t get any pressure, Slavia continued to play their game and a minute after coming on, Wallem scored on his debut to adjust the score to the final 3:0.
Slavia is a big favourite in the away game as well. Everything is further enhanced by the fact that Dnipro-1 cannot play on home soil, but in Košice, Slovakia, where about a thousand red and white fans are expected to arrive.
In the first match we watched traditional European football, fast, brisk, with lots of action. No “beton” like we are used to seeing in the Czech league. That’s why three goals were scored. And we can expect some goals in the rematch.
Betting tip | Number of goals in the match – more than 2.5
