The European team will once again be star-studded at the Laver Cup in September. Serbian tennis player Novak Djokovic joins the European team, and he and his players will be looking to defend their victories from previous years.
Djokovic is not going into anything unknown. He has already participated in the Laver Cup three times, including the edition hosted by Prague. In 2018, he even played doubles alongside Roger Federer.
In addition to Djokovic, the team includes Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal and Andy Murray. These four legendary tennis players will thus meet for the first time in one team.
On the other hand, the world team will be aiming for their first win in this competition. So far, Taylor Fritz, Félix Auger-Aliassime and Diego Schwartzman have been selected. These tennis players will be led to victory by the legendary John McEnroe.
The Laver Cup is a team tennis competition in which players from the European and World Team selections face each other in several sub-matches. The first edition of this high-profile competition was held at Prague’s O2 Arena.
So far, only players from Team Europe have been victorious. In the fifth edition, the tennis players from the World Team would like to break this dominance of their opponents.
