Disgusting, Chicago GM comments on incident of Perry having an affair with Connor Bedard’s mom

The NHL is alive off the ice, too. And the Blackhawks are at it again. After Chicago cut veteran forward Corey Perry from the team, the media began to spread the news that Perry was having an affair with the mother of generational talent Connor Bedard. No one has yet confirmed the shocking news, including the Blackhawks general manager.

And frankly, they probably won’t. All that is certain is that Corey Perry is indeed gone from the team and that he will not be returning to the Original Six organization. Chicago has confirmed that it is working on a contract termination.

“TheChicago Blackhawks have determined that Corey Perry has engaged in conduct that is unacceptable and violates both the terms of his standard player contract and the Blackhawks’ internal policies, which are designed to promote a professional and safe work environment,” reads the officialstatement from the famous hockey club.

The official statement includes an addendum that Corey Perry has been unconditionally scratched. If the player waives his rights, the organization intends to terminate his contract effective immediately.

Tabloid speculation or hidden truth?

After Perry was left off the Blackhawks roster, speculations began to circulate on the internet that the skilled forward was having a sexual affair with the mother of Connor Bedard, who came to the team this summer as a big generational star.

Bedard was the No. 1 pick in the last draft, and is being compared by experts to players like Sidney Crosby and Connor McDavid. At eighteen years old, he is already one of the cornerstones of the Chicago Blackhawks roster.

At a later press conference, general manager Kyle Davidson sat in front of reporters, answering burning questions from curious journalists. Davidson said, among other things, that it was a “business matter.” He dismissed speculation that there was a criminal aspect to the situation.

As well as various other speculations. Davidson said several times that he could not divulge details of the team’s investigation. There is understandably a lot of caution around Perry’s love affair with Bedard’s mother, but Davidson knows full well that the issue is on everyone’s minds at the moment.

Mentor to villain

“The affair does not involve any player or his family and anything or anyone who suggests otherwise is wildly inaccurate and frankly, it’s disgusting. It was a difficult situation. I understand you want answers,” Davidson responded to the rampant speculation.

It’s clear that after Chicago’s past involvement in other sex scandals, the organization will tread lightly in its statements, whatever is behind Perry’s demise. The only thing Davison revealed was that he learned about the whole incident in Columbus.

Corey Perry came to the Blackhawks before this season. As an experienced winger, he was supposed to help Bedard take his first steps in the world’s most famous league. He managed to play 16 games for Chicago, scoring 9 points on 4 goals and 5 assists.
