Disappointment and frustration. Three Premier League teams experiencing a very unsuccessful season
Set goals that fail to be achieved. Game and result decline compared to the previous season. The bitter aftertaste may be completed by relegation to the Championship. Which three teams are experiencing a failed Premier League season? Where will they finish at the end of the competition?

Foxes tamed
The winner of the top English league from the 2015/2016 season is anointed as a contender in the European Cup before the start of each season. For the last two seasons, the Foxes have even been reaching for the rungs guaranteeing a Champions League ticket.
However, each time their end-of-season performances were only good enough for 5th place. That will certainly not happen again this year. Brendan Rodgers’ charges are 12 points behind the place guaranteeing European Cups. In theory, with fewer games played, they can close the gap to sixth-placed West Ham to three points.
But the same number of points separates the team from the King Power Stadium from the relegation waters. Leicester have not escaped injuries this season, especially the back row, the Northern Irish manager is piecing together game by game.
Expected final position:: 10th place
Second Season Syndrome
After being promoted back to the footballing elite, Leeds United have brought a fresh wind to the Premier League. Marcelo Bielsa’s charges played attacking football that brought goals on both sides. The result was a great 9th place finish. Only three points separated the Whites from the European Cup.
But nine months on, the situation at Elland Road is very different. A few weeks ago, a peculiar Argentine coach vacated the club office. Leeds are in a crisis of play and especially results. The last time James and co. won in the league was on January 16. And they only got one point!
The Premier League’s worst defence (61 goals conceded) must improve dramatically under new manager Jesse Marsch or relegation to the Championship is inevitable. Can the American coach keep the (once) traditional club among the elite?
Expected final position:: 18th place
Nightmare at Goodison Park
In the blue part of Liverpool dreams before every season of participating in the European Cup. The transfer policy corresponds to this. But on the football pitches it is different. For the last five years, the best finish has been 7th place.
The sword of Damocles hangs over Everton this season. Only a point (but a game to spare) separates Frank Lampard’s charges from the relegation places. Any relegation would be a huge tragedy for the Toffees community. After all, Everton are one of only seven clubs to play in the Premier League since its inception.
It’s just that even after the end of Rafael Benitez, there has been no improvement in play or results from Richarlison and co. With Leeds, Everton will indirectly compete to stay in the Premier League.
Expected final position:: 17th place
