Dirty politics in the UFC? Chechen dictator harshly criticizes Ankalaev’s draw. On the other hand, he praises the man who robbed Kinzel of a win in Russia
UFC 282 offered a welterweight title fight. However, no one held the belt after that, as the fight between Magomed Ankalaev and Jan Blachowicz ended in a draw. This displeased not only the Dagestani fighter, but also his patron and Chechen dictator Ramzan Kadyrov.

Jiri Prochazka had to relinquish his title due to injury. Now he is successfully out of surgery and could watch the fight for his belt in peace. Jan Blachowicz and Magomed Ankalaev fought for the UFC welterweight championship.
However, the fight ended in a draw and no one is the champion. It has even been announced that the next title fight will be catered by Glover Teixeira and Jamahal Hill in Rio de Janeiro in January.
Blachowicz said the draw was a fair result, but Ankalaev did not hide his disappointment and annoyance. He felt like a winner, having won only the last two rounds. However, apart from the Dagestani, his friend, who is none other than Chechen dictator Razman Kadyrov, did not like the result either.
Dirty politics in the UFC?
While Magomed Ankalaev declared that he never wants to fight in Las Vegas again, dictator Razman Kadyrov immediately began to take a swipe at UFC boss Dana White.
“What happened to you? You were a normal, principled man and now you’ve escaped the cage with the belt without handing it to the clear winner. Has a policy entered the UFC that requires you to make dirty decisions? It’s a sport, Dana, be honest,” MMA Mania quotes Kadyrov as saying.
“Save the face of the organization, your own face. Admit your mistake, give the belt to the real winner and apologize for this show. Save the reputation of the UFC,” the dictator urges the head of the best organization in the world.
An example is to be set by the man who robbed Kinzel
Razman Kadyrov gave the UFC boss a clear example of how the organization’s promoter should behave. He specifically mentioned the head of the Russian organization ACA, formerly known as ACB, who is famous for cancelling boring fights, for example.
And that’s not all. In fact, he has no problem even reversing a decision he disagrees with. Oktagon champion Patrik Kincl has experienced this firsthand. At ACB 52 in January 2017, he defeated Arbi Agujev on ground-and-pound in the second round, only for Khasiev to intervene later and turn Kincl’s win into a no-decision.
According to Kadyrov, Khasiev defends all bias in the ACA, demands objectivity and does not mix sport and politics at any cost.
