Bodo/Glimt will have a unique chance to qualify for the Champions League on Wednesday, as they will defend their 1-0 lead from the first leg against Dinamo in Zagreb. What to expect from the rematch and what to bet on?
Dinamo Zagreb made it through to the play-offs via Macedonia’s Shkupi and Bulgaria’s Ludogorets, but the first real test is up to Bodo/Glimt. Dinamo are first in the Croatian league after six rounds, five points ahead of second place.
The Norwegian side even went all the way from the first preliminary round, but despite all respect for them, they were very lucky with their lot. They faced Klaksvík, Linfield and Zalgiris Vilnius in succession. They are only third in the domestic competition, seven points behind first-placed Molde.
The home team relies on the goals of Mislav Orsic, the Croatian national winger has scored six times and assisted four times so far. Experienced Swiss forward Josip Drmič has opened the net four times and assisted on one goal.
The visitors are led by striker Amahl Pellegrino, who has a 4+2 record in qualifying and has hit 17 times and assisted three times in the league (which has been running since winter). Central midfielder and team captain Ulrik Saltnes has 6+9 numbers through all competitions.
Dinamo relies on goal attack, scoring more than once in five of their last seven games.
Glimt is even better, scoring two or more goals in seven of the last nine games. Last year, for example, he scored five for AS Roma.
Considering his experience from last year’s great season in the Conference and his great shooting form, I think Glimt can handle the rematch and will advance.
