Plzeň tuned up for the rematch with a 2-1 win over Mlada Boleslav. They spared some players, for example Miroslav Káčer or Radim Řezník got a chance. It wasn’t an ideal performance, but a 2:1 win over a tough opponent counts.
Brest also scored two goals against their weekend opponent. A 2:0 win over BATE Borisov, the best Belarusian team in recent years, can at least help Dinamo mentally ahead of the second leg.
Jean David Beauguel has been in good form in the spring and during the preparation, the burly striker also scored a goal in the Mladá Boleslav net to open the scoring. The summer signing Badou Ndiaye has also performed well.
Pavel Sedko is worth mentioning in Brest’s squad, the skilful central midfielder has scored five goals and assisted twice this season. He is helped a lot by talented striker Stanislav Bilenkyi, author of eight goals in eighteen games.
Plzen relies on a solid defence, and has never scored more than one goal in its last ten games.
Dinamo’s attack has started to work again, scoring at least two goals in three of the last four games.
Given the home advantage, I recommend betting on Brest not to lose.
