Allan McGregor made a truly amazing save against Sparta Prague and it is possible that he saved all three points for his team.
The Spartans had a lot of pressure in the final minutes, but it didn’t result in any goals. You can see for yourself the unprecedented save by the Scottish goalkeeper.
Unfortunately, Sparta couldn’t even get a point out of this game and have to say goodbye to the Europa League. The Prague coach obviously sees this as a disappointment, as he said in his post-match interview.
Anyway, the video doesn’t contain only McGregor’s intervention. You can also watch two other brilliant feats.
Spartak Moscow’s goalkeeper, Aleksandr Selikhov. It’s safe to say that his intervention influenced the rest of the match. Spartak were leading 1:0 at that moment and who knows how the match would have turned out if the visitors had managed to equalise.
Instead, Alexander Sobolyev added a second goal in the 28th minute and Napoli only managed to reduce the deficit in the second half. Somewhat surprisingly, the Russian side beat the Serie A leaders 2-1.
And the number 3 goal was scored in Leverkusen’s match against Celtic. Although Hart took a clear goal from Leverkusen in the 54th minute, the Scottish team couldn’t even get a point out of the game. It should be noted that after this action, thanks to Jota, Celtic took the lead.
However, the home side turned the tide at the end of the match and secured a clear qualification to the next stage of the Europa League.
