Despite the lie at the end of the Kareš vs. Vondráček match, the war axe is buried!
It was a roaring success at Sunday’s Heroes Gate 26 in Prague. The two main protagonists of the evening, Petr Vondráček and Petr Kareš, buried the hatchet despite the final lie.
It was a roaring success at Sunday’s Heroes Gate 26 in Prague. The two main protagonists of the evening, Petr Vondráček and Petr Kareš, buried the hatchet despite the final lie.
The two definitely don’t like each other. The former kickboxer Petr Vondráček and the former promoter and wrestler Petr Kareš created a sultry atmosphere long before the fight, when they exchanged some sharp words on the Face to Face show and even security went into action.
It didn’t work out six months ago, but now their fight is history. The two veterans of stand-up combat sports were featured in the main event of the evening at last night’s Heroes Gate 26. And it must be said that the UNYP Arena in Prague saw a decidedly tough fight from the first to the last minute.
Vondracek was definitely the more dominant and tougher fighter in the first round of the 3×3 minute K-1 rules bout. He got Kareš in a lot of trouble at the end of the round, but he had a breather.
The second round looked even more for Vondracek, who sent Karesh into the count several times. But he showed an iron will and in the third round he even took the reins of the fight at times.
Both of them, even at their advanced age, showed excellent pace of the match and great physical and mental preparedness.
After the end of the fight Vondracek got into a cross with the corner of Petr Kareš and it looked like a real melee. A large number of people got between the ropes at one point, but the situation eventually calmed down. A video of the said incident was posted by Kaocko on his Instagram.
The final talks eventually included apologies and the burying of the hatchet between the two rivals. ” If I offended him in any way, and his girlfriend too, I apologize to him again, but it wasn’t meant for them, it was more of a drunken joke on my part,” Vondráček said.
