In addition to Formula 1 qualifying, Saturday also saw qualifying for Sunday’s German Moto GP Grand Prix. And what a spectacle it was! Despite a big crash, it was Johann Zarco who took first place at the start. What does the starting grid look like for Sunday’s race?

Johann Zarco will start Sunday’s German Grand Prix at the Sachsenring from pole position on his Ducati. However, he failed to control his bike before the end of qualifying and subsequently crashed.

Despite the big crash, he was fortunately not injured and can start Sunday’s race from first place. His compatriot Fabio Quartararo will start from the second position, just eleven thousandths of a second behind Zarco!

Third on the start list is Aleix Espargaro, who works for the Aprilia Racing Team Gresini. Fourth place in qualifying went to Jack Miller, with Marc Márquez starting from fifth place.

After an incredible ten years, the legendary Spaniard has found his conqueror. Márquez will certainly want to get as much as he can in the race. He hasn’t finished the last three Moto GP royal cubature races!

The winner of the previous Grand Prix, Miguel Oliveira, will be on the grid in the number 6 position ahead of Jorge Martin. Eighth place belongs to Paulo Espargar, who crashed in both opening practice sessions.

During the race weekend, Takaaki Nakagami on his Honda motorcycle performed well, but after qualifying, the Japanese rider of the LCR Honda team is only ninth.

His teammate Alex Márquez rounds out the top 12 riders. Francesco Bagnaia will start tenth on Sunday, with Alex Rins eleventh.

Thirteenth on the grid we will see Brad Binder, Luca Marini took fourteenth place in qualifying, Enea Bastianini finished fifteenth. Legendary rider and seven-time MotoGP World Champion Valentino Rossi is only sixteenth on the grid.

Joan Mir, who is currently with the Suzuki Ecstar team and who had a very solid result in the last Catalan Grand Prix, will start Sunday’s race from position number seventeen ahead of Franco Morbidelli and Danilo Petrucci.

Iker Lecuona will start 20th. Quartara’s teammate, Maverick Viñales, didn’t exactly put in a dazzling performance and after a tragic qualifying session, he will start Sunday’s German Grand Prix from 21st place!

At the very tail of the starting field is Lorenzo Savadori on an Aprilia motorcycle. The German Grand Prix at the Sachsenring starts at 14:00 and is scheduled for 30 laps.
