Despair, I’m ashamed, Trpišovský takes the loss to Feyenoord on himself. How did he evaluate the match?

The coach of Slavia, Jindřich Trpišovský, is undoubtedly one of the most successful coaches of the Czech league in modern football history. However, even such a person can make mistakes. What is very likeable is the judgement with which Trpišovský speaks and is not afraid of criticism of his own ranks, nor of himself. How did he evaluate the unsuccessful campaign against Feyenoord?
A desperate first half from the Slavs was punished by the home side. They deservedly scored two goals and in the result Mandous could have pulled more balls out of the net, but fortunately that didn’t happen.
Feyenoord, with their aggressive pressing and quick passing, made it impossible for Slavia to pass the ball. Moreover, the home team was able to effectively transition into quick attacks after Sešiovan’s turnovers.
However, at half-time the Slavia’s implementation team reacted very well and in the second act the Slavs were an evenly matched opponent. Tomáš Holeš reduced the deficit after a standard situation, then Ivan Schranz had an equaliser, but his shot was blocked by a defender. The home team defended and got a valuable 2: 1 win.
Jindřich Trpišovský’s assessment
“The first half was a disaster from the moment the goal was scored. We knew roughly what to expect, we prepared for it, but nothing worked in the first half. It was desperate, I’m ashamed of the first half. I take it on myself, the line-up didn’t work,” Trpišovský said honestly after the game.
“It was a feast of football, this shouldn’t have happened. The second goal illustrated what was happening on the pitch in personal battles. At half-time the team needed changes, we were clueless. Communication is important in such a match, it was poor in the first half,” added the Slavia coach.
The honesty and judgement of the coach was also appreciated by the fans on Twitter. “I appreciate your opinion. You are a man in his place. You are not afraid to admit your own mistakes. That is the right attitude, humility and modesty.”
The coach of Slavia must now put the bad match behind him and prepare his team for the Prague derby.
