UFC 271, titled Adesanya vs. Whittaker, is inexorably approaching. Next weekend we will see another numbered event of the year. Derrick “Black Beast” Lewis and Australian Tai Tuivasa are in charge of the main prelims.
The Aussie hunk is known for drinking beer out of his boots after a winning match, which drives the fans crazy and they love to imitate him in the stands.
While Derrick Lewis admires his future rival from a sporting point of view, he was not impressed by his special celebration. “What can I say, he’s a good kid. I really like him,” he told Fox Sports Australia in a live interview with his rival.
“I really liked the way he dealt with Glen Hardy, that knockout was really impressive. Hardy was suggesting a lot of rubbish before the fight. But I don’t like the drinking beer out of his shoes thing at all, it’s a disgusting habit. When I think about the smell of my shoes after the fight, it makes me sick,” expressed his disgust.
Tuivasa responded that he is a big fan of Lewis because they are very similar in his opinion. Both fighters are notorious for the hard bombs they dish out immediately upon arriving in the Octagon. For this reason, fans love both fighters and a boisterous atmosphere accompanies their fights. So we really have a lot to look forward to.
Division three Derrick Lewis, who defeated Viktor Peshta at UFC 192 in 2015, would love to work his way to another title shot. However, a fight with the upstart Tuivasa, who holds the 11th ranked ranking, is a big risk for Lewis. We’ll find out in a week’s time whether we’ll see another beer celebration from the Australian fighter.
