Derby County take on Queens Park Rangers in the 20th round of the EFL Championship. While the home side are clearly in last place due to a penalty, the visitors are within touching distance of third place.
Derby have been deducted twelve and subsequently a further nine points due to a financial fair play infringement. Currently, the traditional club has one single point and is nineteen points behind the non-relegation places. The hope is alive, but the chances are minimal.
QPR are the ones who are happy with the way the season is going so far. They are sixth and if they can make it through Monday’s round of 20, they will jump to third place. Moreover, it has won three of its last four games.
Welsh international and team captain Tom Lawrence is the mainstay of the home team, managing to score four times and assist three times. Jason Knight is getting more and more space, the 20-year-old midfielder has scored two goals and assisted two.
QPR are being pulled by Scottish international Lyndon Dykes, he has scored six times and assisted twice in the Championship. Moroccan offensive midfielder Ilias Chair has scored six goals and assisted on three.
Derby have struggled in attack, scoring more than one goal in only one of their last six games.
QPR also boast an excellent defence, conceding just two goals in their last six games.
Given the away side’s form, I’d recommend backing them to win.
