Depay – Aguero – Messi? Two things could derail the Dutch striker’s dream

Memphis Depay believes he and Lionel Messi and Sergio Aguero can play together in attack at the Camp Nou. “It would be unreal,” the Dutch striker says of the possibility. But there are two problems that could destroy his dream.

Memphis Depay left Manchester United for Lyon after an unsuccessful loan spell, where he convinced everyone of his qualities and that is why he has been given a chance at a big club again. This is despite the fact that two factors played a major role in his engagement.

But of course, we must point out that Depay definitely has the quality to wear the Barcelona jersey! The numbers speak for him as he has scored 63 goals and assisted 45 more in 139 league games in France.

“It would be amazing to play with Messi. I hope it’s possible. There is a lot of talent in the team and it will be great for me to play alongside him and win trophies,” he can’t wait for his first minutes on the pitch.

“We have a lot of strikers in the team, but in my opinion they are all different. I have different skills and different strengths than Sergio Aguero or other players. I believe that the three of us can play together,” the Dutch striker finished his interview with Spanish daily Sport.

Depay will definitely get his chance at Barcelona, but he will have to face a lot of competition in the team.

The Dutchman played mostly as a top striker at Lyon, but at Camp Nou I would expect him to be used mainly on the left side, where Ansu Fati shone before his injury. And it won’t be easy to get past the 18-year-old Barcelona superstar.

At the tip of the attack, Depay would then have to compete with the Aguero – Griezmann duo. Only, it is the latter who has a question mark hanging over him, as the Catalan club’s management has to release Messi’s salary, which translated means that someone will have to leave. And the one most often mentioned is the French striker.
