Ousmane Dembélé is currently having perhaps the best season of his career. He is doing very well on the pitch and has started to be active off it as well. He has even started to learn Spanish, with Gavi and Pedro helping him to learn.

Ousmane Dembélé may be an extrovert, but he may have been rather withdrawn in Barcelona’s collective squad. The fact that Dembélé did not learn Spanish during his time with the club may be an indication of this.

In fact, the young winger has always made do with French. This was also thanks to the large French colony that existed in Barcelona. Dembélé shared the same jersey with Griezmann, Umtiti, Lenglet and Todiba.

This French group may have seemed somewhat separate from the others. However, this has changed with the arrival of Xavi and some young players from the academy, with whom Dembélé is extremely comfortable.

In particular, we are talking about Pedro and Gavi, with whom Dembélé gets along in the cabin and spends his free time with them. Both young men have a very good influence on him, as they also help him learn Spanish.

So it seems that the days when Dembélé was described as a problem player are definitely over. After the arrival of coach Xavi, the French winger has started to work hard in training and he is also fulfilling all his off-field duties.

This was seen, for example, in the summer training. According to the Spanish media, Dembélé was the player who often came to the training centre first. He often added extra training sessions. This was practically unthinkable for this player a few years ago.

The results of the change in approach came almost immediately. Dembélé is now a building block of Barcelona’s starting line-up and a very valid player for the team. He drives his team’s offensive efforts and is loved by the local fans for his current approach.

Dembélé is currently playing his best season at Barcelona. In twenty-eight competitive games, he has scored eight goals and assisted on seven others. He is currently valued because of his contribution to the team in the attacking phase, which Robert Lewandowski in particular can benefit from.
