On Thursday, October 6, Slavia Prague had another match of the group stage of the Conference Europa League, this time against Cluj. And despite the expectations of all the fans, the Prague team lost to the Romanian opponent 0:1. So how do the fans react to this defeat?
The players of Slavia Prague entered the match actively and compared to their opponent they were more often on the ball and had more of the game. During the first half they created several interesting opportunities, but none of them ended in a goal.
On the other side, it was the visitors who took advantage of a wonderful pass from Roger Rangelo Janga and after a quick and agile action by Cluj, it was the visitors who enjoyed the opening goal of the match.
Jindřich Trpišovský’s charges did not respond in the second half, although they were again clearly the more active team.
Slavia created a total of 21 shooting attempts during the whole match, 8 of which went between the three sticks. However, the Seškis failed in the end and because of that they conceded all three points to their opponents.
Fans’ reactions
It should be noted that the decisive shot of the match by Janga went through defender Taras Kacharaba, whom some fans did not forget to mention in their comments under the Slavie’s Twitter post.
However, apart from the defensive mistakes, the fans could not help but notice the very poor efficiency in the final phase of the offensive actions.
The fact remains that Slavia has a problem with scoring goals, especially in European Cups, and especially conquering the opponent’s goal is a big problem for them.
The situation in Group G is that all teams have the same number of points – 4. Somewhat surprisingly, Ballkani is the leader, Sivasspor is second and Slavia is third. The fourth place belongs to Cluj.
Slavia will play two of the next three group stage matches away from home. The last match of Group G will be played on 3 November at home against Sivasspor.
