German tennis player Boris Becker declared bankruptcy because of his debts, but even this step is not enough for his creditors and they want him to pay the debts he has incurred. He has managed to partially reduce their amount by selling a luxury mansion in Germany. But before buying the mansion, the new owner had to agree to one thing.
According to the available information, three years ago Becker owed £11 million, while, according to the British media, he had earned nearly £3.5 billion.
The new owner paid about 52 million crowns for the large mansion. However, he has to share the premises of the mansion with Becker’s mother, who has the right of life tenancy.
His other assets were taken over by the British private bank Arbuthnot Latham. Specifically, an estate with land in Mallorca.
The original value of the estate was around £9 million (about 260 million crowns). Due to its dilapidated condition, the mansion is now worth half that, according to experts.
Despite its large size, however, a new owner of the estate is being sought in vain. The reason is the large initial investment. Restoring the villa to its original state would cost the owner more than CZK 77 million and nobody wants to make this investment.
