Thanks to his outstanding performances in the world of MMA and especially in the UFC organization, David Dvořák earned the Medal of Honour of the City of Hradec Králové. It will be presented to him by the Mayor of the city himself, Alexandr Hrabálek.
For representing Hradec Kralove and the Czech Republic, David Dvořák will receive the Medal of the City of Hradec Kralove. It will be presented to him by the Mayor Alexandr Hrabálek himself during a gala evening at the Hradec Králové Philharmonic on 28 October to mark the celebration of the Day of the Establishment of the Independent Czechoslovak State.
“I am from Hradec, I have lived here for five years and I have been coming here all my life. It is simply my favourite town. It means a lot to me to receive a medal from the city. I appreciate it,” says the native of nearby Hořice.
The medal is awarded every year to those who have made a significant contribution to the town’s reputation, not only in the fields of culture and science, but also in all areas of public life, including this increasingly popular sport.
“This is a great recognition of my work. It’s not just about me going somewhere to a match and representing our country. But I also do seminars, I try to educate and motivate young people, and I’m also involved in animal protection. I’m glad that as my name grows, people are taking more notice of the things that accompany my sporting journey,” Dvorak said.
He is currently preparing for a fight with China’s Su Muaderji, but he was injured and will not face Dvorak until December, but in February. The preparation will be quite long.
“Unfortunately, this is part of it. But it shouldn’t be anything serious and the UFC offered to postpone the fight. We didn’t want to throw away the preparation, so we decided to take the same opponent. He’s specific, he’s left-handed, he’s tall and he’s a stand-up guy. If I’ve trained enough for him, I don’t want to lose it,” explained Dvorak.
