On Thursday, the 14th round of the most prestigious darts competition took place in Aberdeen, Scotland. For the second time in a row and the fourth time overall, 17-year-old English talent Luke Littler dominated the event.

In the quarter-finals Peter Wright, famous for his colourful hairstyles, took on the world number three Michael Smith.

Smith, known as Bully Boy, beat Snakebite 6-4, closing with a superb 146 in the last leg.

In the next match, two Englishmen – Luke Littler and Nathan Aspinall – met. A very close match was eventually won by Littler 6-5 when he took the serve from Aspinall in the last possible league.

World number two Michael van Gerwen and world number six Rob Cross were next to play. There was a surprise here as Cross eliminated Gerwen 6-5 despite Mighty Mike recording an amazing three-dart average of 108.33. In the last match of the quarter finals, Luke Humphries went through Gerwyn Price without a fight.

Smith and Littler were the first to meet in the semi-finals. The young Manchester United fan gave Smith no chance at all, winning 6-1 with an incredible three-dart average of 110.10. Cross dominated the second semi-final with a 6-5 scoreline against Humphries despite Cross only throwing one 180.

The last match of the 14th night was played between Littler and Cross. The final was a sort of replica of the final of night 13. The great averages of both players, which climbed above the 100 point mark, were eventually more exploited by The Nuke, who won 6-4. Cross improved by two leagues from last week, but even that was not enough for the 25th player in the world rankings.
