The speculations have been confirmed, Vladimir Darida is leaving Hertha Berlin after many years. The now thirty-two year old footballer is leaving for the Greek Super League, where he will wear the jersey of Aris Thessaloniki. What did he say after his end at the German capital?
Vladimir Darida made his presence felt at Viktoria Plzen, from which he transferred to Freiburg in the autumn of 2013. He stayed there for two seasons and then moved to Hertha Berlin.
He left a big mark there, but after seven and a half years their paths diverged. Darida would no longer get as much space on the pitch, so he decided to leave Germany.
There was talk of a return to the Czech Republic, but that hasn’t happened yet. Darida has signed a contract at Aris Thessaloniki in Greece!
“He has proved that he is a full-blooded Hertha player. Vladi is the epitome of a professional. He has always given his all for the club in all circumstances and has brought us a lot of joy during his years with us.
Moreover, he is a great person,” said Hertha Berlin’s sporting director Fredi Bobic at the farewell ceremony. Darida will remember the club only in a good way.
“I always felt very comfortable with my family in Berlin. We will keep Hertha in our hearts. For me, it is now time to change location and gain new experiences in another country.
I would like to thank all the fans for their support over the years. It has been a pleasure, ” Darida said in a statement.
