The deal between Czech billionaire Daniel Křetínský and West Ham representatives has been long discussed. The owner of Sparta wanted to buy shares in the London club, now the official agreement has been reached and Křetínský owns a 27% stake.

Daniel Křetínský has become a minority owner of West Ham. He bought part of West Ham’s shares for £150m and now owns 27% of the club.

The London club, for which three Czechs play, namely Tomáš Souček, Vladimír Coufal and Alex Král, has been a target of Křetínský for a long time. Now an agreement has finally been reached between the parties involved. However, that is not all.

In the near future, Křetínský would like to become the overall owner of West Ham. The remaining 73 percent would be bought out for around £600-700 million. How much of a near future we are talking about is uncertain.

”I am delighted that this important acquisition has been successfully completed. As a passionate football fan, I have great respect for West Ham United’s exceptional history and tradition, as well as its loyal and enthusiastic fan base and the very inspiring role the club plays in many social programmes and initiatives,” Kretinsky told the club.

Daniel Křetínský has noticed the growth and development of the club in recent times and is delighted with it. He wants to be a part of the team’s successful future. He feels very privileged to be part of the West Ham United family.
