Damn Mudryk wakes up! Look how he caught the Arsenal goalkeeper
Mykhaylo Mudryk has certainly not had an easy start to his Chelsea engagement, but lately he seems to be waking up. He caught goalkeeper David Raya with an accurate shot in Saturday’s clash with Arsenal.
Mykhaylo Mudryk has certainly not had an easy start to his Chelsea engagement, but lately he seems to be waking up. He caught goalkeeper David Raya with an accurate shot in Saturday’s clash with Arsenal.
When Mudryk arrived in London in January this year for 70 million euros. So everyone was curious to see how the very expensive reinforcement would perform. The Ukrainian winger, meanwhile, had been gaining experience at Shakhtar Donetsk at best.
The opening months have proved the critics right, as the 22-year-old winger has scored just one single goal in 25 games for the Blues to date. Even 2 extra assists are not good at all for such an expensive reinforcement.
Starting this season, Mudryk more or less continued the misery from the previous season. On the other hand, the Ukrainian talent has to be defended, because the performance of the whole team is definitely far behind the norm.
Recently, however, Mudryk seems to be waking up as his performance has gone up significantly, as confirmed by the Whoscored rating. His last two games in the national jersey in particular have been great. Against Malta, for example, he scored a goal and was the best player on the pitch.
He has carried these performances over to Chelsea. In the second half, he scored beautifully into the Arsenal net when he caught the Gunners goalkeeper and increased the Blues’ lead to 2: 0.
If Chelsea had managed to win, they would have climbed up to 8th place ahead of West Ham and would have been only a point away from 5th place Newcastle.
However, after Brentford and the cup game with Blackburn, Mudryk and co. have a hell of a series with Tottenham, Manchester City, Newcastle, Brighton and Manchester United.
