The Czech Republic defeated Scotland 2:0 in their first match at the championship and has a great chance of qualifying from the group, but they still need at least one more point to be almost sure of progression. Luka Modric and co. will be playing with one change in the Czech national team.

The qualification crystallized Jaroslav Šilhavy’s line-up, which he then sent to the opening duel at the championship. And the players rewarded him for his confidence with an important 2-0 win over Scotland.

In the spring of 2019, Alex Král came into the national team like a big water. He made his debut against Brazil, but subsequently worked his way into the starting line-up with great performances. Together with Tomáš Souček, they formed a great duo, also proven from Slavia, and especially the hairy midfielder pushed the then captain Bořek Dočkal out of the national team.

After his transfer to Spartak Moscow, his form grew even more and he gradually became the mainstay of the national team. The 23-year-old midfielder was supposed to be the driving force of the team at the Euros and in a way “sold” to the Premier League.

However, he already looked rather tired in the friendlies. The same was repeated in the duel with Scotland, where he added a lot of unforced turnovers. That’s why he was the first to leave the field, replaced by Tomáš Holeš in the 67th minute. He had an amazing half-year in Slavia and showed a quality performance at the Euro as well.

And this is the change Jaroslav Šilhavý will make against Croatia. Tomáš Holeš will start in place of Alex Kral, otherwise the line-up will remain unchanged.

Czech national team line-up against Croatia:

Vaclík
Coufal – Kalas – Čelůstka – Bořil
Souček – Holeš
Masopust – Darida – Jankto
Schick
