The Dutch were tipped to be the favourites before the eight-final match. “What is written is given.” In this tournament it is even more true, the knockout part has already offered very surprising results, although in two cases the favoured teams managed to advance (Italy and Spain after extra time).
The Czech national team’s match against the Oranjes was also surprising. The Czechs managed to match the play of the Dutch and the performance of our team had an upward trend, which was of course helped by the exclusion of Matthijs de Ligt.
Our team was very compact, plus we saw some outstanding individual performances!
