Czech women’s tennis is a hot topic in the world again! Fruhvirtová is a child prodigy, writes Spanish media

Anyone who follows tennis has probably heard the name Fruhvirt. They’re even 2, and they’re sisters. The older one is Linda, who is currently 17 years old and also has a lot of things under her belt and a lot more to come. Today, however, we will be primarily talking about the younger of the prodigy sisters, Brenda, by 2 years.

Brenda Fruhvirt captured her fourth adult tournament on the circuit this season yesterday, Sunday August 14. And at 15 years old, that’s no mean feat. Brenda is starting to catch the attention of the wider public and in Spain, for example, she is being described as a child prodigy.

In the final in Danderyd, Sweden, she swept away the experienced German Barthel, whom we can also know from tournaments in Prague, 6: 1 and 6: 3. She lost only one set in the whole tournament and that was in the semifinals. The German is a much more experienced player who has 4 WTA titles to her credit.

Her previous success came from Klosters, Switzerland, where, like in Sweden, she played on clay. Fruhvirt also overcame 2 compatriots on the way, Palic in the semifinals and Bayerl in the final duel. Brenda dominated the whole tournament without losing a set.

In the first half of February, the Czech won 2 titles in two identical tournaments in South America. The Tucuman and Tucuman 2 tournaments in Argentina, also on clay. Yes, they are all “only” ITF W25 tournaments, but even there Brenda faced opponents 200 ranks higher and did not find an opponent.

Moreover, there is still the fact that the Czech hope is only 15 years old and all the more admirable these results are. And look at the dominance! Eight starts in ITF tournaments, 4 finals and 4 titles. Only 4 sets lost in 4 tournaments.

“Her results are frightening. She’s competed in eight ITF events this year and won half of them. She is a prodigy of world tennis,” wrote the Spanish tennis site Puntodebreak about Fruhvirt.

Brenda is far from being the only promising player who should contribute to the bright future of Czech women’s tennis. We have written about the current state of our women’s tennis before, and we don’t have to go far for proof.

At the moment, Brenda Fruhvirtová is the youngest player in the WTA live ranking in the top 300. Sara Bejlek is the youngest player in the TOP 200 and Linda Noskova is even in the TOP 100. So there is a lot of hope for the future.
