The Czech women’s team is gradually making its way to the elite. Now it has been invited to the Cup of Nations 2023, where our women will be able to compete against Jamaica, Spain and Australia.
The Czech national women’s football team has had a relatively successful year in 2022. Although they did not qualify for the World Cup, they played many quality matches.
These include, for example, the draw with the USA at the SheBeleives Cup in February, or the draw with England in mid-October. Gradually, Czech women’s football is finally getting among the elite.
Their increasing performance has also earned them an invitation to the 2023 Cup of Nations tournament in Australia.
The Australian team will be one of the opponents, Svitková and her teammates can look forward to the Spanish or Jamaican team.
“We are happy to be able to participate in this prestigious tournament. We are especially pleased to be approached by the Australian federation, which shows that the Czech women’s football team is gaining strong credibility in the world.
We believe that through these matches the toys and the implementation team will gain a lot of experience, which they will use in the following competitive and qualifying matches,” said Zdeněk Psotka, Technical Director of the FAČR.
The tournament is played in February, with the first opponent being the home team, which will be hosting the World Cup in the summer together with New Zealand, so it is a kind of test.
