Europa League
Czech trio on the field together for the first time! Coufal assisted, Soucek’s fish ended up in his own net.
The Czech trio playing for West Ham met together for the first time on the pitch in a fierce match. It happened in a Europa League match against Belgium’s Genk! For the Hammers, the match ended rather bitterly. They had a hard time turning the game around and at the very end Tomas Soucek scored a really unlucky own goal. The match ended in a 2:2 draw.

However, David Moyes’ charges can take comfort in the fact that despite the draw they can celebrate their progression to the spring phase of the Europa League. The Czech football public and Czech fans can celebrate the fact that all three Czech national players met on the pitch for the first time.
Vladimír Coufal started from the start and assisted Said Benrahma’s first goal with a great pass. WhoScored gave the right back a slightly above average rating of 6.51. He had 51 touches of the ball during the match and even finished twice.
Tomas Soucek entered the game in the 58th minute and scored an own goal in the 87th minute while attempting a defensive flick. This was reflected in his rating, which is unprecedentedly below average (5.85).
Alex King only came on in the 85th minute and had one touch of the ball. Anyway, it is still a big first for the Czech trio! This event was even noticed by the Czech Embassy in London.
“Great to finally see all 3 Czech Kladivars on the pitch together. Next time in London.”
Anyway, the likelihood of this happening in the upcoming game at the London Stadium (against Liverpool) is really slim. But let’s hope that in some future West Ham game, this event will be repeated more than once.
