Czech tennis players will enter the World Team Championships on Monday with a duel against Germany. Despite the great strength of the opponent, Petr Pála wants to start the tournament victorious.

The Czech number one is expected to be Barbora Krejcikova, who could also play doubles with her doubles partner Katerina Siniakova. As for the other singles, Markéta Vondoušová is likely to take over.

Tereza Martincová and Kateřina Siniaková are ready to jump into any match.

“We want to start with a winning game, but it’s a tough opponent,” Petr Pála told ČT Sport.

As for the German line-up, Angelique Kerber, who is currently ranked 12th in the WTA rankings, should definitely not be missing on court. Her match with Krejcikova could be very interesting for the spectators.

Another player in the German team is Andrea Petkovic, who should hit the next singles match.

In case of a tie after the singles, the doubles will come next. The Czech players should have a clear advantage in that one, as the doubles pair of Krejcikova – Siniakova is very well matched and has been at the top of the women’s doubles world for many years.

The Czech tennis players will be driven by their home environment in Prague. They will play their next match on Thursday against the Swiss. Only the group winners will advance to the semifinals.
