They may not get as much attention as other players, but maybe that will soon change. The Czech Republic has some interesting players growing up in Inter Milan, Wolfsburg and Slavia Prague, for example.

They may not get as much attention as other players, but maybe that will soon change. TheCzech Republic has some interesting players growing up in Inter Milan, Wolfsburg and Slavia Prague , for example.

Lukáš Ambros (VfL Wolfsbug)

A great promise for Czech football in the future is the talented offensive midfielder Lukáš Ambros. The captain of the Czech U18 national team is one of the building blocks of the team from Lower Saxony.

“Lukáš is used to a different level of competition from Wolfsburg. You can tell that he plays abroad. He has a different perception of important matches. In the Czech Republic, we often tend to have an exaggerated respect, maybe even fear or apprehension during big games. But he sees it more as a challenge. It’s as if he’s saying to himself: Now I’ll show you. I don’t care if I’m playing against Frenchmen who are worth a million euros. I’m going to beat you,” says the coach of the national 19.

Daniel Samek (Slavia Prague)

“I don’t like the expression, but I have to say that he simply has balls,” said Jindřich Trpišovský about the defensive midfielder, whose style of play reminds many of the current hammerman Tomáš Souček.

He moved to Slavia from Hradec Králové at the age of 14. However, he showed more to people only at the beginning of the last season. Samek is the only player from the 2004 edition who plays for the A team of Slavia. The other players of this year are either in the Slavic reserve or in Vlašim.

Samuel Grygar (Inter Milan)

Another talented player is a 17-year-old native of Ostrava, who won the award for the best Czech youth player two years ago. Samuel Grygar is making his way into the starting line-up of the Italian giant. The right-footed footballer’s strengths include excellent reading of the game and great success in one-on-one duels. Eight days ago Grygar won the Italian league with Inter 2-1 after extra time.

“It’s something unforgettable, just like what we did in the semi-final. We were 0:3 down at half-time and nobody believed in us anymore. By the 75th minute, people were leaving the stadium because they thought it was over. But we came back into the game thanks to goals in the 78th, 91st and 93rd minutes and after extra time we went through to the final. We will never forget the emotions and euphoria with the boys,” Grygar told Radiožurnál.

Daniel Šmiga (Slavia Prague)

The 18-year-old forward transferred from Baník Ostrava to Slavia Prague in the winter. He signed a four and a half year contract in Vršovice. In the spring part of the league season he played for the Slavic reserve. Here Šmiga had a very good record of eleven games, ten goals and one assist.

Before his transfer to Slavia Prague, reports began to emerge about the player’s poor health. Now, however, it seems that the change of environment has helped the player to move on in all aspects.

Adam Karabec (Sparta Prague)

The 18-year-old talent won the talent of the year poll on May 28. “I am very happy about this win. It reminded me of the situation two years ago. Big names won it before me, so I will try to follow in their footsteps and show what I can do. It’s nice that I followed Adam (Hložek), but I think I’m still far from him and I have a lot of catching up to do,” Karabec told reporters.

The 18-year-old talent broke into the starting line-up of Sparta Prague at the end of the season. He played a total of 30 games last season, scoring two goals and assisting on two.
