The injury to the Czech marksman occurred on 18 October at a Legia Warsaw training session. Tomas Pekhart had to undergo surgery. He was out for two weeks. But on Wednesday he was back on the pitch and training with the team. He wore a mask at the training.
It was a training session before Legia’s Europa League match against Napoli, the leading team in the Italian Serie A. The match will be very attractive, but unfortunately Pekhart will not be involved. He missed four of his club’s matches during the two-week break. The coach wants him to train more before he starts again in a competitive match.
Last season, the Czech striker became the top scorer in the Polish league. He scored 22 goals and helped his team to win the league title. This season he has scored only 2 goals so far.
According to the coaches of the national team, Pekhart is one of the candidates for a vacant place in the nomination for the upcoming matches against Kuwait and Estonia.
Last year’s Polish league champion, who knocked out Prague Slavia in the Europa League this summer, is struggling in domestic competition this year. It is in 16th place, which means relegation to the second league. It remains to be seen how much the return of the Czech striker will help Legia.
