The Czech national player signed a contract with the Minnesota Timberwolves, with whom he will undergo training camp, where he will have the opportunity to compete for a roster spot. Last season Vit Krejci played for the Atlanta Hawks. He didn’t play many games in the NBA. In the whole season, the Czech national player played in only 29 games, during which he played an average of 7.5 minutes.
Due to such a low workload on the floor, he averaged 1.2 points per game, 0.9 rebounds and 0.6 assists.
He was unable to make it in an ambitious team and the Hawks terminated his contract after one year of cooperation. Krejci became a free agent and was expected to head to Europe.
Minnesota made an offer and Krejci wants to compete for the NBA
However, playing in the most famous basketball league in the world remained Krejci’s goal. In the summer, he played successful games for the Czech national team in Olympic qualifying. The Czechs did not qualify for the final tournament, but Krejci showed that he still has his qualities.
Eventually, the Minnesota Timberwolves contacted the team about their interest in the young Czech. Krejci will try his luck with his third NBA team. Before Atlanta, he was with the Oklahoma City Thunder.
Krejci will attend the Timberwolves’ preseason training camp, where he will try to fight for his spot in the lineup. However, if he fails, he should at least continue on the farm, as Minnesota is aware of his talent.
