Gareth Bale impressed in their first game together with two moments. First he elbowed Ondrej Kudel in the face (for which he was not penalised), then he assisted Daniel James for the only goal of the game.

However, the author of the hat-trick against Belarus will not help his teammates in the October matches, as he will not take part in the next national team meeting due to a thigh muscle injury.

On the other hand, other mainstays are returning from injury. Aaron Ramsey and Kieffer Moore were the main contributors to the group’s progression at the Euros, while Connor Roberts and Neco Williams are back in the top English leagues.

The Czech national team will also have to prepare for Fulham star Harry Wilson, the aforementioned Leeds speedster Daniel James, and Tottenham’s Joe Rodon in the defensive line.

The clash for the second place of the World Cup qualifying group is scheduled for Friday, October 8. The winner will take a big step towards being seeded in the spider, while the third team to qualify through the Nations League will be unseeded ahead of the draw.
