Czech national football team will stay in the Nations League and the Lions will qualify for the EURO, believes Petr Fousek

The Czech national football team and the national twenty-one team will play very important matches in the near future. the “Áčko” will play matches against Portugal and Switzerland in the Nations League, while the national team’s junior team will play Iceland in the play-offs for qualification to the 2023 European Championship.

The national team under the leadership of Jaroslav Šilhavy will play at home against Portugal in the Nations League on Saturday 24 September, and on Tuesday 27 September we will play the last group match in Switzerland.

Currently, the Czech Republic is in third place with four points. One point behind us is Switzerland, with whom we will play a retention match. First place belongs to Spain with 8 points and second place to Portugal with 7 points.

Petr Fousek, President of the Czech Republic Football Association, joined the national team to express his support and motivation ahead of the upcoming matches.

On Friday, 23 September, the Czech national team will also have an important match against Iceland for qualification to EURO 2023.

The president of the FAČR believes that the Czech national football team will emerge victorious from this play-off and head to the European Championship next year. If the qualification is successful, he also believes that several young players could get an invitation to the national team for the preparatory matches in November.

He also reminds that the Czech national futsal team starts its qualification for the World Cup today. In a home match, it will play against a selection of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

“The futsal championship will be played according to a new attractive model. I believe that our team will be able to cope with the qualification,” concludes President Fousek.
