The Champions League final is coming up! Tomorrow, Saturday 27 May, the match between Liverpool and Real Madrid will be played in Paris. And the match will also have a Czech footprint, as Petr Fousek will be the main delegate of the match!
The Champions League is coming to its climax tomorrow with the final match between Liverpool and Real Madrid. Neither team has a Czech footballer, but the match will have a Czech footprint.
Petr Fousek, the president of the Football Association of the Czech Republic, will be the main delegate of the match. The association itself announced this in a press release.
“I extremely appreciate the trust that UEFA and its president Aleksander Čeferin have placed in me. It is a very demanding mission and a huge responsibility.
But I also take it as an honour for the whole of Czech football and our football association, which I represent,” Fousek said in a statement.
Fousek has been around FIFA or UEFA for a long time, and thanks to him, the European Conference League final will be played at Slavia next season.
The match kicks off at 20:45 and will be officiated by French referees led by referee Clément Turpin, who has officiated six Champions League matches this season.
