Czech fans have taken a swipe at the Pilsen duo that took the field against Belgium! Right?
A lot of criticism came down on social media, both on the head coach Jaroslav Šilhavy and the players Filip Kaša and Jindřich Stanek. The question is whether it is justified.
A lot of criticism came down on social media, both on the head coach Jaroslav Šilhavy and the players Filip Kaša and Jindřich Stanek. The question is whether it is justified.
Let’s start from coach Jaroslav Šilhavy. Who most of Czech football society likes to tease. For me, it is undignified and only shows the lack of respect in society.
In the long run, Šilhavy and his implementation team have taken the Czech team somewhere else. Remember how domestic football presented itself a few years ago and that is why it deserves respect.
Another fact is that he is one of the most experienced coaches in the Czech Republic, so he knows very well how to put together, or not put together, a team. What has greatly affected the Czech coach this national break are the numerous absences of quality players. Unfortunately, in the Czech Republic we don’t yet have a sufficient breadth of competent players for big European matches.
The criticism has also been faced by the Viktoria Plzen players Filip Kaša and substitute goalkeeper Jindřich Staněk. The game didn’t go too well for Kaša, but in his defence he faced the best players in the world and he simply hasn’t had experience of this kind of football before. And what about the criticism of goalkeeper Jindřich Stanek? It is totally out of place.
Criticism of Filip Kasa and Jindřich Stanek
One of the fans immediately started picking a substitute goalkeeper for Staňek, but he gave a great performance! From the prestigious WhoScored server, the 25-year-old Pilsen goalkeeper got the highest rating (6.68) of all Czech players.
Central defender Filip Kaša received even more offensive comments. Yes, he overslept or was late in certain situations, but I’ll still stick up for him. First experience with TOP football and statistically he didn’t do that crazy.
His passing success rate was at 90%, he intercepted the ball twice and returned it to the Czech team’s possession and once in a scrum he won the ball back into our possession. These are more or less similar numbers to those of captain Tomas Soucek.
Another interesting thing from the match is the reunion between Romel Lukaku and the aforementioned goalkeeper Jindřich Stanek. The Belgian giant probably remembers the Czech goalkeeper very well from their time at Everton.
