Borussia Mönchengladbach came to Darmstadt on Sunday afternoon in the fourth round of the Bundesliga, but were already down 0:3 after the first half. However, Tomas Cvancara helped the visitors significantly in the second half with an excellent performance.
It was a half of horror. Borussia Mönchengladbach did not start the match with Darmstadt well at all as they were already down 0:2 after ten minutes.
First Marvin Mehlem scored for the home side, then Matej Maglica also scored. But after half an hour of play it was even worse. In the penalty area, Tim Skarke took advantage of his good position to head the ball to the right post – 3: 0 for Darmstadt.
Fabian Nurnberger had a great opportunity in the first 45 minutes, but Gladbach goalkeeper Moritz Nicolas saved Gladbach from a fourth goal. After a disastrous first half, coach Gerardo Seoane had to make a change.
At the start of the second act he made four changes to the line-up. Florian Neuhaus, Nico Elvedi, Luca Netz and above all Tomas Cvančara came on. And he helped his team considerably, he was the one Gladbach missed in the first half.
Čvančara the hero!
In the 49th minute, Cvančara won a penalty and a red card for the opponents, but he did not convert the penalty kick. Six minutes later, Jordan Siebatcheu scored for the visitors.
And in the 73rd minute it was only a goal down. The former Sparta striker headed the ball to the substitute Neuhaus, who easily headed the ball into the net – 2: 3.
And in the 77th minute, Cvančara equalised himself, and not only with this goal, but his overall performance saved Borussia at least one point for the 3:3 draw. You can see his strike in the video below.

Cvančara added his third Bundesliga goal against Darmstadt, scoring in two league games so far. The first one ended 4:4 (Augsburg), now he saved a 3:3 draw.
However, Borussia have not made an ideal start to the new Bundesliga season, as they are only in 14th place after four games with two points.
