CSKA Sofia vs. Viktoria Plzen: Preview and betting tips
There’s only one step left. After two years of drought, Viktoria Plzeň can once again break into the European Cup group stage. They only need to lose a goal to qualify.
There’s only one step left. After two years of drought, Viktoria Plzeň can once again break into the European Cup group stage. They only need to lose a goal to qualify.
Viktoria Plzeň had a poor season last year, finishing in fifth place. It only made it to the Conference League preliminary rounds, where it started in the second round.
There, they first beat Dynamo Brest, but in the third round they had a tough time with Welsh side TNS. In the end, however, they defeated their fierce opponent and faced CSKA Sofia in the playoffs.
They beat the Bulgarian team 2:0 in the first match on home soil and will take a very promising result into the rematch. Michal Bílek’s team has been in great form lately, winning their last three games and keeping a clean sheet in all of them.
An unassisted goal would certainly move Viktoria forward. They may even lose by one goal, a two-goal loss would send the match into extra time.
But Pilsen will not want to rely on the maintenance of the result. As head coach Michal Bílek said, Viktoria will try to play as actively as in the first game and add more goals.
Therefore, I think Viktoria will confirm their good form and will not lose in Sofia.
