In addition to the North London derby between Arsenal and Tottenham, the eighth round of the Premier League will offer one more match for London. What to expect from Crystal Palace and Chelsea and what to bet on?
Crystal Palace has been putting in a sympathetic performance from the start of the season, but they are not picking up many points due to the heavy draw. They have six points, they are only two points ahead of the relegation zone, but on the other hand they have one game in hand.
Chelsea are the opposite. They are struggling, their performance is not ideal, yet they are in seventh place with one game to spare. Three wins by a goal count, they are only two points behind the top five. Moreover, with a new coach, the Blues should go up.
Wilfried Zaha is a long-time mainstay of the home team, the African offensive all-rounder has already made four appearances. In the centre of midfield, summer signing from Lens Cheick Doucouré has caught the eye, the defensive midfielder has even assisted once in addition to his hard work in defence.
On the away side, winger Raheem Sterling shines, the summer signing from Manchester City has scored four times and assisted once. Far-back and one of England’s top talents Reece James scored one goal and assisted one.
Crystal Palace are not at all successful in attack at home, scoring more than once in only one of their last six games at Sellhurs Park.
Chelsea, on the other hand, have played poorly away this season. It has lost three of its four games away from Stamford Bridge with an aggregate score of 2-6.
Given Palace’s home form, I think the overall quality of the team and individuality will tip the balance in Chelsea’s favour.
