Silesian club FC Opava will try to secure promotion to the Fortuna League this season. Twenty-three-year-old Croatian striker Luka Pisačić should help them achieve this goal.
Luka Pisačić has been on trial at the Opava club, where he succeeded and earned himself an engagement. The native of Zagreb will stay in Městské sady at least until the end of the autumn season.
“We are taking a bit of a risk because we are pressed for time. Anyway, we missed this type of striker. Luka has had several training sessions here, in which he showed his potential. There is definitely something in him. So far we have agreed on a six-month stay with an option for a transfer,” explains the sports manager of Silesian FC Jaroslav Kolinek.
The 23-year-old Croatian, who stands 190 centimetres, last played for Serbian club OFK Bačka. Pisačić played a total of 15 games for the club last season and scored one goal.
The Zagreb native has also played for NK Naftaš Ivanić Grad, Graničar Gradip, Strmec Bedenica and the junior team of Slaven Belupo. He has also had engagements in lower Austrian competitions.
Opava completed all the formalities of the player’s arrival on Wednesday 11 August. Thanks to this, the young Croatian was able to play in the MOL Cup, where the Opava club faced Bohumín in the early evening.
Pisačić started in the starting line-up and contributed to his new club’s victory with two goals. The Croatian’s performance was commented by the Opava coach after the match.
“Pisačić impressed me with his character and emphasis on the front line. Maybe he could have scored an extra goal or two, because he had chances,” said Roman West.
