Croatia’s golden generation is slowly passing away, which is reflected in the results. Only three wins from the last six matches, plus a shameful 0:3 loss to the Austrians in the first round of the Nations League.
The French have not started well either. Despite a goal from Karim Benzema, they lost 1:2 to Denmark after two goals from Andreas Cornelius and as the winner of the last edition they will want to confirm their role as favourites and win on Monday.
Luka Modric is worth mentioning in the home team, the Croatian midfielder played a key role in Real Madrid’s unexpected success in the Champions League. Forward Andrea Kramaric scored eight times and assisted eleven times for Hoffenheim.
Kylian Mbappé is having another terrific season, scoring thirty-nine times and assisting twenty-five for PSG. Madrid’s Benzema is the biggest favourite to win the 2022 Ballon d’Or with a 44+14 record and LM top scorer status.
France relies on a goal-scoring attack, and has quite possibly the best offense in the world. It has scored more than one goal in five of its last six games.
Croatia, on the other hand, have struggled in attack, scoring no more than one goal in three of their last four games.
Given France’s offensive strength, I think the Croatians will lose.
