Cristiano Ronaldo was a great catch for Al-Nassr. Not only because he regularly scores goals, but mainly because of his personality, which can attract many other excellent players, as the summer transfers have confirmed. Now the Saudi team wants to target Raphael Varane.

Cristiano Ronaldo shines in Al-Nassr

Al-Nassr are currently second in the Saudi Pro League after 11 games played, trailing 7 points behind leaders Al-Hillal. However, Ronaldo and co. have one game in hand on the local league leader.

Apart from the Portuguese striker, other offensive players like Talisca, Sadio Mané and Otávio are also doing well. Defensively, the Manchester duo of Aymeric Laporte and Alex Telles stand out.

This is already quite an interesting list of great players who will surely attract other footballers from Europe. One such player, according to TeamTalk, could be Raphael Varane, who Al-Nassr is expected to bid for in the January transfer window.

Ronaldo, who has played alongside him at Real Madrid and most recently at Manchester United, is reportedly fighting hard to acquire the French stopper. They have won many trophies together and could build on their successful campaign in Saudi Arabia from Spain.

The Manchester United situation

Even more so when Manchester United are practically a write-off. Erik ten Hague is failing to build on last season’s success at all. The whole project is crumbling under his hands, which is no doubt the fault of the stopper duo who have been out of action for quite some time now.

Moreover, Varan turned 30 years old this spring. So, given the situation at Old Trafford, which does not look like a rosy tomorrow yet, the French stopper could be thinking about embarking on another adventure.

He would certainly improve himself financially a lot in the Saudi Pro League. Moreover, he and Laporte could make a really interesting tracking duo.

Not to mention that a number of other players can be counted on to strengthen Al-Nassr in the next transfer windows. For example, the most interesting name circulating in the media is Kevin De Bruyne.
