Cristiano Ronaldo didn’t show up for training! He apologised to the club for family reasons, but United won’t let him go

Manchester United seem to have a pretty busy summer ahead of them. New coach Erik Ten Hag has a tough rebuilding of a mediocre squad ahead of him, but at the same time the management has to deal with Cristiano Ronaldo who wants to leave the club.
Why Ronaldo wants to leave the club is pretty obvious. Manchester United will not play in the Champions League next season and will only play in the Europa League. Moreover, the Portuguese goalscorer wants to win in the last years of his career and that is quite unlikely to happen at United.
The team is in a rebuild, Ten Hag has to reshuffle the entire squad and that will take a couple of years, it certainly doesn’t look like success anytime soon.
That’s why so renowned journalist Fabrizio Romano came out last week with the information that Ronaldo wants to leave Old Trafford and his agent Jorge Mendes has already started to discuss the possibilities of leaving.
Today, Monday, July 4, the Red Devils’ A-team training began, where new coach Ten Hag will get to know the squad. All the journalists and photographers eagerly awaited the arrival of the Portuguese superstar, but it was in vain. Cristiano Ronaldo did not arrive for the start of training.
Romano subsequently came forward with the information that Ronaldo had indeed not arrived for the training session, apologising to the club for “family reasons”.
He also added that the club is aware of his desire to leave the Premier League sixth team. Manchester, however, still insists Ronaldo is not for sale and United want to keep him in the squad.
However, if the Portuguese decides he wants to leave, there is no way to keep him. That’s how he left Manchester United for Real Madrid in 2009, from which he made up his mind to leave for Juventus in 2018. From Torino, he again asked for a transfer last summer and left for Manchester.
