AC Milan will be fighting to hold on to second place on Tuesday. They travel to Cremonese, the only team in the Italian league that hasn’t won yet. What to expect from the game and what to bet on?
Cremonese have picked themselves up after a poor start, including the League Cup, losing only one of their last five games, on the other hand they are the only team in the league still without a win. They are 18th in the table, just three points behind 17th placed Spezia.
AC are as happy as can be. In the Champions League, they reached the eighth round and in Serie A they are in second place. Napoli, the overwhelming leader, is six points better off. Current form is more than decent, five wins in the last six games.
Cyriel Dessers is still not getting into form, the Nigerian striker scored five goals and assisted twice, but only managed to get 3+1 in Bruges. His compatriot and teammate David Okereke boasts 5+1.
On the away side, Rafael Leão is shining, the Portuguese winger following up on a great season last year with six goals and nine assists. The club’s diamond in the rough in the rough in the form of left-back Theo Hernandez hit twice and assisted on four goals.
Cremonese is pushing the boot especially on defense. In four of the last six games, the newcomer has scored at least twice, while only last-place Verona (26) has fished the ball out of the net more times than Cremonese (24).
That’s water on AC’s mill. With 27 goals scored, Milan have the second best offensive line in the league, only Napoli are better. It has also scored at least twice in five of the last six games.
Although AC will be without Oliver Giroud, who is serving a red card, I still believe in the individual quality of Leo, Hernandez and others. Even taking into account the form of the Cremonese defensive line, I recommend betting on the triumph of the guests.
