Crazy scene in the Sevilla vs Barcelona match: Koundé was red carded for the tackle, Alba won the Oscar for his performance
The clash between Sevilla and Barcelona was very interesting and exciting. Very unusually, the home team Sevilla, which is second in the league and the only one that is at least a little bit behind Real Madrid, was the big favourite. Against the Blaugranas they played 30 minutes with ten men because of Koundé’s sending off, which was very funny.

It’s been a long time since the Andalusians were the clear favourites in a Sevilla-Barcelona duel. Both on paper and in terms of odds. The Rojiblancos went into the game from second place with 37 points from 17 games, six points behind first place Real Madrid.
Barcelona were much worse off. They were only eighth in the table with 27 points, ten less than Sevilla, and there is already a crazy gap of 16 points between Real Madrid and Barcelona.
Surprisingly, however, the visitors were slightly better in the match. It’s just that their effort was rather platonic in terms of ball possession, they didn’t get to threaten the goal. So in the 32nd minute, Sevilla struck when a rehearsed signal from a corner kick was finished by Papu Gomez to send the home side into the lead. But Barcelona equalised before half-time when Araujo headed home from a corner kick in the 44th minute.
In the 64th minute, Sevilla were made very difficult by star defender Jules Koundé. He couldn’t handle the behaviour of Jordi Alba, who shoved him in the back in stoppage time, so he came up short and threw the ball at the Spanish defender.
And the whole scene was quite comical. Alba was initially coming at Kounde like a tough opponent, but as soon as the ball arrived and hit him somewhere between the shoulder and the face, he immediately collapsed to the ground and looked like he wasn’t going to survive. The blow certainly may have hurt, but Alba’s scene would have been more deserving of an Oscar.
Barcelona, however, couldn’t even take advantage of the half-hour powerplay and took only a point from Estadio Ramón Sanchéz-Pizjuán.
