Covington’s a snitch? Khabib defends Masvidal, says no one has the right to attack opponent’s family
Unfortunately, the feud between Colby Covington and Jorge Masvidal didn’t end in a fight, as Masvidal attacked Covington on the street in Miami and was charged with battery. In addition, the former champion Khabib Nurmagomedov commented on the situation.

Colby Covington in the fight with Jorge Masvidal managed to win on points, but their feud did not end the fight. Covington went too far with his trash talk and Masvidal couldn’t take it along with the loss.
Masvidal actually attacked Covington on the street in Miami, knocking out a piece of his tooth and damaging his watch, which is worth $90,000. Covington worked with the police to get Masvidal charged and arrested.
All of this does not sit well with Khabib Nurmagomedov. “Just because you’re better in the cage doesn’t mean you have the right to pick on someone’s kids and family. Once you do that, you have to expect that there will be consequences and it will catch up with you,” the former champion began his statement on Twitter.
Khabib doesn’t like the fact that Covington has made accusations against Masvidal for the sole reason that they are two professional fighters who are also in the same weight division.
“I think everyone in Welterweight should turn their back on Colby now and turn down any offers to fight. Let him be without a fight, it will have an impact and effect on him. Maybe then everyone will think twice about insulting someone’s family,” Nurmagomedov added.
It’s worth noting that Khabib himself has been most exemplary throughout virtually his entire career. The only exception was the fight with Conor McGregor, who, like Covington, insulted his opponent’s family.
This wasn’t the first time Covington had called the cops on a UFC fighter. In the past, Fabricio Werdum has thrown a boomerang at him because of the way he spoke about Brazil and the fans there.
