Philippe Coutinho played only 14 games last season due to injury. Barcelona are trying to sell him, but the problem may be his price. AC Milan have been offered, but the Brazilian dribbler reportedly prefers a return to Liverpool.
Coutinho suffered a serious knee injury in December, which only let him play 14 competitive games last season, in which he scored 3 goals.
Moreover, Barcelona are trying to narrow down their huge wage budget and so would like to sell the Brazilian midfielder. However, his injury from last season could be a hindrance in the transfer process.
The second problem may be the price, because it is high and it is hardly possible to pay that much for a player when he has missed almost the whole season.
A suitable candidate seemed to be AC Milan, who were left by Hakan Calhanoglu, who headed to a rival. So the Rossoneri have to find a replacement and that could be Coutinho.
Leicester are also monitoring the situation surrounding the 29-year-old Rio de Janeiro native. Although Coutinho dreams of returning to the Premier League, he prefers his former club – Liverpool.
However, according to The Sun, Jurgen Klopp is not interested in his services because of the way the player forced a transfer to Barcelona.
Everton’s new coach Rafael Benitez was also reported to have stepped in. He may have to patch up the hole left by James Rodriguez and so the Brazilian midfielder could be the first choice. The fact that Coutinho has already played a couple of games under Benitez is also an indication.
