Courtois: Pérez? A great president, he’s the boss. We’re not on Whatsapp, but I invited him to my wedding

Thibaut Courtois is crowned the best goalkeeper of last season. And although Real Madrid’s success is down to the players on the pitch, according to the Belgian goalkeeper, a lot of the credit goes to club president Florentino Pérez.

Good club management is essential, as PSG and Manchester United have already found out. If Real Madrid can boast of anything, it is great club management.

You may or may not like Florentino Pérez, but you have to admit that he is an absolute professional in his field who knows what he is doing.

the 76-year-old businessman knows that for the club to have a good chemistry, the players have to have a good relationship with him. And he is certainly doing that.

In an interview with ‘Vanity Fair’, Real’s goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois and his partner Mishel Gerzig talked about their relationship specifically with President Pérez.

“We have a great relationship. He’s the boss. He wants us to win. I like his style, he’s very close to us. He doesn’t miss a single game, I haven’t seen that before in other clubs with the management,” Courtois said.

“He wins everything. He demands a lot from us, but he is a great president. Again, we don’t message each other on whatsapp (laughs), but we talk before and after the games. In the VIP he always has a few words with Mishel, even with the families of the other players,” explains the Real goalkeeper why he is so popular with the players.

It is with Israeli model Mishel Gerzig that Courtois is preparing for his wedding. “We have invited Florentin Perez to our wedding and we hope he will be able to come, ” added the Belgian goalkeeper’s partner.
