Coufal took a dig at Sparta: grass at Letná? No wonder Spartans have so many injuries
Vladimír Coufal played the whole match against Estonia, which the Czech national football team won 2:0 at Letná. However, the West Ham right back did not forgive himself for taking a dig at the turf on which Sparta’s players play their home games. What did he say and why do many Sparta fans agree with him?

The Czech national football team made it through their final qualifying match against Estonia, beating them 2-0. However, it was not enough for second place due to Wales’ draw with Belgium.
This means that the Czech team will go into the barrage thanks to the Nations League and will be unseeded, so our selection is certainly not going to be easy.
After the game, Vladimír Coufal went for an interview and took a dig at the Letná pitch, which he said is not suitable for combination football.
“Try to walk on the pitch. It’s a bit of a superhuman task to play combination football on this pitch and change direction. I’m not surprised that the Sparta boys have so many injuries because this pitch is like a big slide. When you walk on it in your boots, you get clay mud on your soles, like walking on a potato field,” he said in a post-match interview.
Some people are surprised by this statement, but it is true that the players at Letná have been slipping for a long time, which has also been noticed by fans in recent seasons.
Many agree with Coufal, the ground doesn’t look that bad from the looks of it. Sparta should certainly think about it.
But Coufal’s words about combination football are not very true, after all, just think of Lyon. It’s all about the quality of the squad.
