West Ham won their home league game against Norwich and jumped into the Top 4 after a 2-0 win. Czech international Vladimír Coufal assisted for three points, Alex Král spent the whole game on the bench, Tomas Souček was missing.

Tomáš Souček did not make the Hammers starting line-up due to illness and was replaced by Manuel Lanzini. David Moyes’ move can be understood from the point of view that West Ham played against the last team in the table and didn’t need two defensive-minded midfielders.

The game itself didn’t impress the impartial spectator much. The first big chance came in the 26th minute, but Manuel Lanzini was saved by Tim Krul.

In the 36th minute the Hammers went ahead, but Jarrod Bowen’s goal was disallowed for offside after the referee consulted VAR.

Seven minutes later, the England winger celebrated a regular goal. Vladimir Coufal found Bowen and he ripped his header into the net. After the change of sides, Michail Antonio turned deftly in the whitewash but then missed the target.

Subsequently, the bar was hit three times, once on the away side, and twice Bowen was the unlucky one. Still, Bowen did not stop at one goal, securing the three points for the favourites in the 86th minute with a false chance.

West Ham moved up to fourth in the table with a 2-0 win, but fifth-placed Arsenal have a game in hand. The next round sees Leeds at home.
